Hello everyone and welcome to MysticalRoseFavours' Blog!
Today I am going to talk about my Commissions Categories on Kofi! I am going to start by discussing the current commission options and show a few examples on how I create my artwork with the use of Photography, Digital Illustration, and Photoshop techniques - including my custom-made watercolour brushes and cloudy watercolour effects.
What are the commission options?
MysticalRoseFavours currently has two commission categories on Kofi! Each commission option varies from a cute, simple icon design to a gorgeous watercolour painting.
COMMISSION EXAMPLES FOR FLOWER ICON & FLORAL WATERCOLOUR PAINTING
I used to have more commission options, including a custom-made cartoon character option, but I ended up closing this option as I personally feel that my art skills are stronger when I combine my photographs with digital art techniques, such as watercolour painting and unique line art for example to create unique abstract art-pieces that only I could create.
However, I would be open to the idea of illustrating cartoon characters again if there is a request for it later down the line.

Why did I change/remove Certain Commission options?
I used to have more commission options, including a custom-made cartoon character option, but I ended up closing this option as I personally feel that my art skills are stronger when I combine my photographs with digital art techniques, such as watercolour painting and unique line art for example to create unique abstract art-pieces that only I could create.
After reflecting back on all the skills I developed during my time in both Art and Photography courses from Secondary school, to college, to university, I've learned a lot about my strengths and weaknesses as an artist. I've always been terrible at drawing anatomy and realistic depictions of other items in general despite my experience and have found much more success with creating abstract art and photography pieces, so I wish to continue to work further with my strengths and share them with the world.

How do I create the artwork for my commissions?
Each commission request comes with its own approach, depending on how much detail is requested by the customer. I would usually start with either rough sketches or quick snapshots of said request, for example, a specific flower or tree design and how they will be presented. I would also do some basic research to further understand what the flower or tree is and how they look.
How I design Flower Icons?
Research said flower to gain a visual understanding on how they look.
Sketch out flower design and tidy it up for clear outlines
Add colour to the final design
Include additional layer style like a Stroke outline and Drop Shadow
How I design Floral Watercolour painting?
Research said flower/tree to gain a visual understanding on how they look
Research local area and make travel plans to visit and photograph at said location
Take Photos of flower/tree and pick the cleanest option
Create Custom Paintbrush with tools like Modify Feather, Define Brush Preset
Include additional layer style like Stylised Edges, Rendered Clouds, layer blending, Gaussian Blur
