A Letter to my Future Self
In honour of May's Mental Health Awareness Month, I am sharing my own contribution to the #KofiCreativeLetter challenge! This letter is deeply personal to me, and I am truly looking forward to sharing it with my followers and supporters. It's a reflection on my journey throughout my 20s as I get ready to cross the threshold into my 30s.
My 20s have been defined by experimentation, learning, and planning for the future. I've spent these years building my portfolio of artwork and photography for future projects, laying down the stepping stones to create a successful business, and working hard to save and invest for both my business expenses and my retirement.

💌 Dear Future Catherine...
Dear Future Catherine,
Hi, this is your 29-year-old past self writing to you. How are you doing now that we've left our 20's behind? I hope you're doing better than where we left off at least! Are you finally a successful entrepreneur? Are you financially secure now? Or are you still struggling to find your purpose?
In the year 2025, you are currently struggling with achieving a stable income which makes it difficult to find the time for your creative hobbies. Although you started MysticalRoseFavours two years ago, it still hasn't become your primary source of income, yet! And yet, you keep on going. You remain determined to achieve your dream of running a successful business, where you proudly display your unique artwork for the world to appreciate.
I hope you are getting many commission requests and donations by the time you read this letter again. I hope you can make your customers and rose members happy with your many gifts and reward opportunities! I hope that MysticalRoseFavours becomes a place where many lovely ladies come to celebrate the luxury of expressing their blossoming creativity with a vibrant mystery and youthful romance!
We’ve journeyed through many moments of uncertainty throughout the years, and I hope that when you receive this letter, I wish to hear how MysticalRoseFavours has gradually unfurled its petals and started to bloom. Please tell me that the business will offer a sanctuary for artistic individuals - a community that embraces the royalty of the purple rose through artwork and gifts! I hope you tell me about your first commission request, what it was and who that person was. I hope you tell me we’ve reached financial stability - I wish to know who our first donator was, what was their first comment? Who became our first Rose Member, and will they continue to support us for the years to come?
When I read your letter, will your words remind me that our journey is defined by the courage to keep moving forward, even when the destination is uncertain? That the lessons of our younger years serve not as burdens but as the foundation upon which today's dreams will flourish.
I hope when you do read this letter again, you have found your way - no matter how unconventional it may be! No matter where you are in life, I feel it's important to remember that I'm proud of you for overcoming it all! Too often you are hard on yourself and stress yourself out over matters that are out of your control and were in no way your fault! Despite it all, you continue to push forward and adapt to what life throws your way.
